Gianni Vallardi has been the General Manager Magazines Italy of the Mondadori Group since October 2006.
He has also Managing Director of ACI-Mondadori and Hearst Mondadori, General Manager of Mondadori Rodale and non-executive Director of Gruner+Jahr/Mondadori.
Since 2008 Gianni Vallardi has held a special mandate for the promotion of reading from the Italian federation of newspaper and magazine publishers, Federazione Italiana Editori Giornali (F.I.E.G).
Born in Milan in 1951, Gianni Vallardi has a degree in political science from the University of Milan and a master in business administration from the Bocconi University.
He has extensive experience in print media, including, from 1984 to 1993 as the first general manager of the magazine division at Editoriale Corriere della Sera, and subsequently managing director of RCS Periodici. From 1994 to 2003 he was managing director of RCS Books, before moving to RCS Newspapers as managing director. Since January 2005, Vallardi has been the managing director of Cairo Publishing.
