Magazines With a market share of 38% and more than 40 titles, the Mondadori Group is Italy's biggest publisher of consumer magazines and one of the leading operators in the sector in Europe. Since its founding, the company has been a driving force in magazine publishing. In fact, in 1938 Mondadori launched the first women's magazine in Italy, Grazia, in 1950 it launched Epoca, Italy's first illustrated weekly magazine and the country's leading newsmagazine, Panorama has been leader in its segment since its launch in 1962. In recent years the Mondadori Group has strengthened its leadership in consumer magazines by launching new titles and pursuing a policy based on international expansion which received a further push in 2006 with the acquisition of Emap France, France's third largest magazine publisher with a portfolio of more than 30 titles and a market share of 10%. In recent years, the traditional business has been reinforced with the addition of internet activities with the creation of sites for the titles most suited to supporting web development. In 2007 the Mondadori Magazine Division, that is led by General Manager Roberto Briglia, generated revenues of €1,047.7 million. |
